지엠테크니컬센터코리아 주식회사는 GM의 글로벌차량 개발 업무를 효율적으로 주도해 나가기 위해 2019년 1월 설립됐다. 인천시부평의 한국지엠 부평공장내 본사를 둔 지엠테크니컬센터코리아는 디자인센터, 엔지니어링센터, 엔진구동개발센터, 생산기술연구소, 청라주행시험장 등 차량개발을 전문적으로 수행할 수 있는 조직 및 시설을 갖추고 약 3천명이상의 우수한 엔지니어가 GM의 최첨단 글로벌 차량개발을 위해 근무하고 있다. 지엠테크니컬센터코리아는 쉐보레 스파크, 트랙스, 크루즈, 볼트EV 등글로벌 차량 개발을 주도하거나 협업을 수행해왔다. 최근엔 글로벌소형 SUV인 트레일블레이저를 주도적으로 개발해 시장에 성공적으로 출시한 바있고, 향후 CUV 타입 제품 등 GM의 주요한 글로벌 차량들에 대한 연구개발 프로그램들을 주도해 나갈 예정이다.
GM Technical Center Korea Co., LTD
GM Technical Center Korea Co., LTD was created in January 2019, to efficiently lead the development of GM’s global vehicles. Located at GM Korea’s Bupyeong headquarters in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, the company has professional vehicle engineering operations and facilities. They include a design center, a vehicle engineering center, manufacturing engineering operations and the Cheong-na Proving Ground. About 3,000 engineers are engaged in the engineering of GM’s cutting-edge global products. GM Technical Center Korea has led and cooperated with global R&D centers in the engineering of the Chevrolet Spark, Trax, Cruze, Bolt EV and other products. It has led the engineering of a global sub-compact SUV, the Trailblazer, to successfully launch it in the market, and will take the lead on R&D programs for GM’s major global vehicles such as CUV-type products in the future.
